Hot Compost Harvest

The hot compost we began making in Easter with a grant from the Waste Minimisation Fund and The Carbon Cycle Company is ready!

The Eco Leaders spent time spreading the beautiful nutient rich compost on our Edible Gardens on Friday.

It makes our seedlings so happy! What a wonderful way to deal with our waste.

If you have contributed to our composting system with waste from home, THANK YOU. And if you would like some compost for your gardens please email christined@sunnyhills.school.nz

GreenGold Reflection Day Preparations with Cate

Cate Jessep visited Mrs Daniel and the Eco Leaders today to check in with our GreenGold journey. We enjoyed talking about the importance of reflection, planning our celebration day and sharing the significant shifts we've made in the past 4 years.

So we are purposeful and improve, each day should be 70% in the present, 20% reflection on the past and 10% future planning.

We wonder where our GreenGold Reflection will take us ...

Vegan Gluten Free Vegetable Muffins

Today the Eco Leaders harvested herbs and veges from The Edible Garden to make gluten free vegan vegetable muffin. We taste tested them (YUM) and popped the rest in the freezer.

We're going to give them to our guests at our GreenGold Reflection Day.

Broad Bean Harvest for Dip

In Edible Garden news, it's broad bean harvest time again. We're going to freeze them and make broad bran dip for our GreenGold Reflection Day.

We put the pods and old plants in the compost.  I wonder what we'll grow next ..
