Room 1's imovies - Enviro Initiatives at Sunnyhills - 2013

As everyone is aware, Sunnyhills School is committed to supporting green initiatives and currently holds a Silver Award.

The enviroteam has contributed to this by not only making our physical environment more beautiful, by developing the beautiful Koru and Textual Gardens (amongst other planting projects), but also promoting sustainability through ideas like the recycling of paper and glass, the worm farm (for the composting food scraps) and our vege garden.

The part that excites our team the most is the philosophical evolution that is taking place - through exposure to 'green thinking' the children at Sunnyhills School are developing an embedded global conscience.  They are aware of the critical role they play in being the guardians/protectors of their environment and they are more willing and enthusiastic about spreading their new thinking with their families and their communities.

An example of this is when the Year 5 children from Room 1 created educational iMovies on this very topic.
We have included this link ......
Enjoy!
