Year Five Cooking Up A Storm

 

Year Three Plant Kumara, Munch Cucumbers and Promote Worms

 

Today Room 8 managed to get out in the Mara before the electrical storms to plant some kumara seedlings.  We picked to big cucumbers and two enormous marrows.  

Rooms 18 & 7 completed their worm posters and ate the cucumbers.  Don't the posters look awesome!

Next time we're hoping to make veggie pancakes for our last session.

Year Four Okonomiyaki Veggie Pancakes

Curtis "I didn't know fruit or vegetables could turn into pancakes"

Valentino "Flour, egg, milk, zuchinni and salt made our pancakes"

Chase "I enjoyed eating the pancakes.  They tasted a lot like normal pancakes"

Olivia "We I flipped the pancakes. I thought it was going to explode"

Carrie "We had to wait until the pancake was bubbly then we could flip it.  I found it easy"

What could we do next?

Year 5 Trees for Survival and Mara Maintenance

 There was lots of hands on action for our Year 's today:

Room 3 planted our final Trees For Survival seedlings into grow bags this morning.

Room 2 refilled the Mara Kai with compost and weeded.

Room 1 attacked the pest plants in the Mara Kai.

Year Three Advertising Agency

 

Year Three want everyone to know how important worms are for returning nutrients to the soil so we can grow kai. On a, rainy day we got arty farty and created 3d effect posters to promote worms and Composting food scraps.

Room 18 & 8 noticed cucumbers growing in our Mara Kai so cut them up and ate them for a fresh snack. With no more cucumbers, Room 7 ate perpetual spinach and sorrell leaves.  Thanks worms for making the compost to grow yummy veggies!

We'll finish our advertising campaign next time and hopefully it will be a sunny day so we can plant our kumara seedlings.
