Barking the Western Boundary on Sunday - Taking Action On Our Bird Corridor

A big thank you to all the wonderful families who who joined the Mrs Venville, Mrs Driver, Mrs Knofflock and Miss Fullard to weed and bark our new native trail.  We had perfect weather not too hot and the promised rain held off.  Mrs Steel got our yummy morning tea ready for us and even Mr Venville came and helped.  Many hand make light work as students and parents beavered away.  All done by 11.30 and it looks AMAZING.

Who's That Animal Pest?

We continued our investigations into the pests in our green spaces this week.

Can you guess which pests left the evidence? Follow the link to play the game:

We also recorded our predictions and wonderings about invasive species. We began to come up with a plan of action to find out more about pests at Sunnyhills.

Next we'll create and set tracker tunnels and chew cards.

Visit to the Buddhist Temple

In May the whole school visited the Buddhist Temple.  The students learnt about the 3G's and 4G's.  They visited the temple, made a lotus flower, learnt a little about mindfulness and were given a yummy morning tea.

Travelwise Central Primary Lead Teacher and Student Development Workshop Brainstorming Session

Central Primary Lead Teacher and Student Development Workshop

Before we attended the leadership day workshop we had to brainstorm and prepare our ideas on a road safety issue/problem our school is currently experiencing.  We chose traffic around our school gates.

·         we talked about what we already knew about the problem/issue/activity from observation and experience.
·       Next we thought about possible solutions.
We noted these all down and brought them to the workshop for the planning activity in the afternoon
