Colour with Kauri Hub

Kauri Hub were on the case this afternoon. We researched the Hauraki Gulf and looked into overfishing issues.

A small group unwrapped our Whale Tale and brainstormed what colour to paint it. They decided on kikorangi to represent our school colours and match the moana.

Painting the first coat was a bit scary, a bit messy but fun!

Each class at Sunnyhills School is excited to investigate the Whale Tales and begin our own moana inquiry with these slides and resources. Already, Ms Lewis' class have started to think about "what are marine reserves and why do we need them?", after she shared the story of a snapper nibbling her toes on at Goat Island. I wonder where the rest of our GEMs learning will lead us.
